A Personalized, Compassionate Approach to Therapy
My name is Dr. Nisha Todi, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing telehealth therapy for individuals seeking personal growth, emotional healing, and a greater sense of balance in life.
Over the past decade, I have built my practice around one central belief — that therapy should be a safe, collaborative space where you feel seen, understood, and supported in creating meaningful change.
My approach is warm, practical, and grounded in evidence-based psychology. I help clients explore unhelpful patterns, strengthen self-awareness, and develop coping tools that empower them to live with clarity and confidence. Whether you’re working through anxiety, trauma, or simply navigating life transitions, my goal is to help you reconnect with yourself and move forward with purpose.
Education and Professional Training
- BA in Psychology – Bryn Mawr College
- MS/Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology – Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, PA
- Doctoral Internship – New Mexico State University
- Postdoctoral Residency – Arizona State University
- Licensed in Arizona (PSY4885)

My training at Chestnut Hill College deepened my understanding of how early life experiences shape our emotions and relationships throughout adulthood. I also began exploring how identity and culture influence the way we see ourselves and interact with the world.
As a second-generation Asian Indian American, my multicultural journey has profoundly influenced my practice. I recognize how cultural expectations, family values, and life experiences can affect mental health, self-esteem, and decision-making. This awareness allows me to provide culturally sensitive therapy that honors each client’s background and story.
My work with organizations such as Service and Education for Women Against Abuse and my teaching internship in Kenya further strengthened my commitment to helping individuals from diverse communities build resilience and confidence through compassionate, inclusive care.
Therapy Philosophy
I often describe therapy as “a gym for the mind.” It’s a space to increase your self-awareness, work through emotional barriers, and strengthen the mental and emotional muscles that help you live authentically.
In therapy, we uncover patterns that may no longer serve you and explore their deeper roots. By understanding where pain and habits originate, you gain the insight and tools to make lasting changes. My clients often find this process not only healing but deeply empowering — it transforms uncertainty into self-trust and fear into forward movement.
Experience and Specialties
Over the past 10+ years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients through both in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. My experience at New Mexico State University and Arizona State University gave me the opportunity to support individuals from varied cultural, professional, and personal backgrounds — each with unique challenges and goals.
I specialize in:
- Trauma Therapy & Recovery – Helping survivors rebuild safety, trust, and confidence
- Anxiety Therapy – Managing worry, overthinking, and physical symptoms of stress
- Life Transitions & Identity Work – Navigating personal and professional changes
- Self-Confidence & Empowerment – Building resilience and emotional clarity
Traumatic events, in particular, can change how we see ourselves and the world around us. They can create lasting feelings of shame, guilt, or fear that limit our growth. My role as your therapist is to help you develop healthier coping strategies, reduce triggers, and shift the thoughts that hold emotional pain in place — allowing you to move toward a more fulfilling, peaceful life.
